The Hispanic Cookbook: Traditional & Modern Recipes in English & Spanish by Nilda Luz Rexach

This is a novel about the adventures of a Kansas farm boy living through the Dirty Thirties in the middle of the Great Depression.
Fun was still a high priority for folks to forget their troubles. Folks sang and played country folk music, joined in community Doings, and sometimes attended Medicine Shows.
Kids played games handed down through generations when they werent doing farm chores. Some kids created their own toys from cast-off equipment found in farm junk piles.
Sexual problems in men, real or imagined, were a reliable source of income for charlatans. Gullibility was always a reliable point of attack.
Doomsday was a frequent sermon in churches. The congregation was reminded that the world disasters were signs of the impending end of the world brought on by the sins of man.
