An exceptionally fine collection of 150 color photos made from a small plane on a large size film (the detail is startling, as is the Japanese--Toppan Printing Co.--color work). Carlos Fuentes has written an eight page introduction for the book. Mexico is presented in eight sections; each is preceded by a map and an essay. The many shots of ancient ruins gives a perspective not hinted at by the familiar ground-level photos. Culled from some 425 flying hours these are magnificent scenes. The next volume (not announced, but surely possible) would be improved by relief maps. 10x12. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
